What should you expect next after Samsung’s Glass and Mirror Displays?

Recently, Samsung announced the phenomenal Mirror and Glass displays. This made me wonder what’s next in the line. Throughout the history, many technologies have been showcased in Hollywood in the movies like Minority Report and Avengers. Some are screens with extraordinary features and others not even screens – they are something beyond screens.

After LCDs, LEDs, and 4Ks, Samsung has become the first to introduce the Mirror and Glass displays.

Glass Displays is – as the name suggests – a display on a transparent glass. You can see the display as well as the background of the screen through it.

Mirror display, on the other hand is a display on a mirror surface.

These OLED displays use reflective panels to project the reflections.

These additions will definitely revolutionize the way we perceive media, but how are the people going to welcome them that is still to be seen. These OLEDs are available for commercial use, and they aim to provide customers a more realistic presentation of the products. We can soon expect these kind of displays for Home use with more features.

But, what do we have coming our way? Future has even better to offer. In future we can expect a couple of display types.

Holographic displays Microsoft has also taken the world by storm by previewing the Hololens technology. This technology will make things appear real time holo-graphically. This means the wearer of the gadget will be able to see objects in his room, on his table, on the carpet, and he can even produce resizable screens wherever he desires to.

Although, the applications of Hololens are endless, still Microsoft seem to focus more on Modeling with their product.

Screen-less Displays Screen-less displays, like Hololens, will not require any screen or a physical surface to reflect the projections. However, screen-less displays will not require one to wear a gadget or glasses. The images will appear in the space – or should I say in the Air.

But one thing is for sure that we are going to enjoy unbelievable technology in the future. Many world changing companies are fighting technology wars, but no matter who loses, we win.
